LONG REALTY CARES FOUNDATION CONTINUES TO BE AN ACTIVE PART OF THE COMMUNITY
Phoenix - (TUCSON, ARIZ.) – The Long Realty Cares Foundation today announced that a monthly monetary donation will be made to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona in an effort to help the organization achieve its mission.  Families in need of food help have increased 46%, and the number is growing at a rapid pace. While public contributions are accepted by the Long Realty Cares Foundation, the majority of the non-profit’s budget comes from Long sales associates, staff and affiliates.   “During this present economic climate, it is especially important to reach out to those around us who need the basics in life – nourishment, food, shelter,” said Long Realty Cares Foundation President Susan Barry.   The Long Realty Cares Foundation’s core mission is to offer the promise of hope to those in need, and is committed to serving the needs of the communities in which we work and live. This year, fulfilling those in need of “sustenance” is the chosen direction the Foundation will focus on in 2009, and the Community Food Bank is a perfect recipient for achieving this goal. According to the Community Food Bank, each dollar contributed represents an estimated nine dollars worth of food items.  Additionally, dollars given by the Cares Foundation will support the Food Bank’s “Snak-Pak for Kids” program, which provides food for hungry school children to take home on the weekends.  To fulfill the Community Food Bank’s need for volunteers, the Long Realty Cares Foundation will be launching volunteer efforts soon, as well as food drives in each of the 12 branch office locations throughout Tucson, Green Valley, Sahuarita & Vail.  For additional information about the Long Cares Foundation and this project, contact Foundation Administrator Michelle Salvagio at 520-918-3757. About the Long Realty Cares FoundationLong Realty Cares Foundation was established in 2002 to expand the philanthropic activities of the Long Realty Companies and to provide a venue for our sales associates and employees to collectively enhance the quality of life in Arizona. As our company evolves, it is distinguishing itself by building a legacy of philanthropy.  To date, more than $1.5 million dollars in support have been donated to over 160 non-profit organizations in the communities in which we live and work.  Foundation monies come from the many sales associates who voluntarily donate a portion of their commission from each real estate transaction and from Long Realty Companies employees who personally contribute to the Foundation. Many of our sales associates and employees go even further in their efforts to effect positive change; they make a commitment to serve local charitable organizations in a volunteer capacity. 520-918-3757. www.longrealtycares.com About the Community Food Bank of Southern ArizonaThe Community Food Bank, Founded in 1976, has grown into a facility that acquires, stores and distributes 14 million pounds of food annually throughout Pima County.
