PHOENIX PUBLIC TRANSIT HOLDS PUBLIC CELEBRATION OF DEER VALLEY CIRCULATOR
Phoenix -

PHOENIX – In an effort to thank its current riders and to reach out to potential new riders, the Phoenix Public Transit Department is celebrating its free Deer Valley neighborhood circulator service, DEER RUN, by holding a public celebration at 1 p.m. on Nov. 8, where it will ask residents “What is your favorite place along DEER RUN?” All participants will be entered into a drawing that includes prizes from various businesses in the area.

The public celebration will take place in the courtyard in front of the Harkins Theatre in The Shops at Norterra, with Councilmember Thelda Williams visiting the event to choose the winners from participants in attendance. To remind people to take care of themselves at bus stops and anytime they are outside, Public Transit staff will also be handing out a limited amount of sunscreen packets, sun/heat brochures and red umbrellas, which are provided courtesy of Travelers, a leading provider of auto, home and business insurance.

The event will conclude at 3 p.m.

Contest prizes include gift certificates to several Norterra destinations including Harkins, Subway, Dippin’ Dots, Sauce, Paradise Bakery and more.

DEER RUN route maps and schedules will also be available at the event. For specific DEER RUN route information and other updates visit ValleyMetro.org.  Also, contact transit information at (602) 253-5000; for persons with text telephones TTY (602) 261-8208.
